The 2016 Sports Checklist

Some are calling 2016 the best year in sports ever. Some are saying it couldn't have gone better if it were scripted. I am saying...I'm just glad that I kept this blog going throughout the year.

The checklist of "perfect moments" in 2016 is anticlimactic only for the reason that everything was a climax. Was there much time to breathe? Let's see:

- Alabama holds of Clemson for a National Championship
- Peyton Manning leads team to Super Bowl win in final game of his career
- Where did Villanova Basketball come from? Buzzer beater for the win.
- Warriors set new wins record.....then blow a 3-1 series lead in the Finals
- Is there even a National Hockey League anymore?
- Cavs win the NBA Finals in Lebron's homecoming season...just like he promised
- Leicester City wins the BPL at 5000-1 odds.....did you even notice this one?
- KD joins the Warriors giving that team a lot of experience at blowing 3-1 leads
- Serena ties Steffi Graf's all time Grand Slam wins total.
- THE OLYMPICS...a break from annual insanity for brief and intense insanity...USA wins
- Somewhere in all of this baseball is happening. I promise.
- Olympics still: American women prove they are better than the men...cue Biles and Ledecky
- More Olympics: Bolt and Phelps still the fastest....both retire
- Football starts. Tom Brady doesn't
- The Cubs break the 108 year curse!! The Indians do not break their 50+ year curse.
- Why are the Dallas Cowboys winning? Oh yeah, Romo isn't playing, duh.
- Alabama is still the best team in college football....no change, no surprise.
- Basketball is going to be different this season!? Yeah, maybe not. Still Warriors and Cavs.
- PAC 12 or BIG 12 always gets snubbed...this year is the BIG 12's turn. Go Huskies!!
- Take a breath...it's Christmas...but while breathing know the Cavs beat the Warriors again.

Whew.

You ready for more yet? What will 2017 hold for us.
- Another Bama championship
- Another Cavs and Warriors Finals
- Another year where few people pay attention to the MLB regular season
- Another RG3 injury

Here's to an epic and "too-perfect" 2016 and here's to a hopefully more unpredictable 2017!!

Happy New Year everyone!!
